Gold jewellery thrown out of window after store catches fire

A fire has broken out at a jewellery showroom located in the heart of Bangalore causing traffic jam on the busy MG Road in the city.

Seven fire engines have been rushed to the location.

According to reports, soon after the fire broke out, the employees of the showroom, Navaratna Jewellers, were rescued.

There is no word on any casualty yet.

Attempts are now underway to secure the valuables. According to eyewitnesses, gold jewellery was being thrown down through widows in plastic bags to fire personnel. -- NDTV
