Jayalalithaa leaves one RS seat for CPM, who will the latter put up?

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa has announced four nominees from the state for the Rajya Sabha, leaving the last one that her party, the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, commands, to ally the Communist Party of India-Marxist.

The AIADMK's four candidates are Sasikaka Pushpa, the mayor of Tuticorin; Chinnadurai, Vijila Satyanand, and Muthukaruppan, all from the southern districts of the state.

But media attention is on the fifth RS seat Jaya has left for the CPM and who the Marxist party will put up from there.

Informed sources say that the CPM could be putting up its polirburo member Brinda Karat from the seat, but watch this space for more information.
