While the formal announcement of an alliance between the LJP and the BJP is pending, Narendra Modi has in fact, assigned a larger role for Ram Vilas Paswan.

Early next week, Paswan is being deputed to meet Farooq Abdullah and M Karunanidhi to attract DMK and NC into the NDA.

Modi has also conveyed to Paswan that his efforts shall be rewarded. Apart from seat sharing between the BJP and LJP of  say, seven seats, there is also one Rajya Sabha seat up for grabs.

Paswan is keen to get the position of Convenor of NDA, the post
held by Sharad Yadav. Paswan will travel to almost all the states in
March to get Modi votes from the minority and the OBC community.

With Paswan's re-entry into the NDA, there is a larger acceptability of Narendra Modi's leadership from other political outfits.
