Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray on Sunday announced a statewide "rasta roko" agitation on February 12 to press for abolition of the levy and dared the Maharashtra government to arrest him.

Raj said he was determined to continue his stir until the government has made collection of road tax "transparent".

"Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan is Manmohan Singh without the pagdi (turban). He has no answers for our queries, and if only the courts give dates, then what are we expected to do?  The red and orange beacons on the police vehicles can be easily purchased in shops at a mere Rs 100,' he had said yesterday.

He is facing multiple cases for instigating his party cadres to vandalise toll booths on various highways a few days ago
