Unmanned aerial vehicles to keep an eye on New Year revellers

This year, in an attempt to ensure that New Year celebrations go off without any incident and issues, police in various metros will be making use of unmanned aerial vehicles to keep an eye on revellers.

Security has been beefed up in various parts of the country in wake of the recent Bengaluru blast and security threats. Police officials said that this is the first time that they will be using the drones to watch over revellers.

In Bengaluru, in addition to the unmanned aerial vehicles, night towers have been set up at various vantage points to keep a watch over people. Even in the nation's capital, security measures have doubled in order to prevent any untoward situations.
