Ebola death toll has passed 7,500, says WHO

More than 7,300 people have died of Ebola this year in the three countries worst-affected by the epidemic, according to the World Health Organisation.

The WHO said Saturday that about 19,000 have been sickened by the virus in Liberia, Guinea and Sierra Leone, the country where response efforts are now focused.
