Shrien Dewani, acquitted on charges of orchestrating the murder of his wife Anni, is among the eight Indian-origin people in the annual list of 100 headline makers in South Africa.

Dewani, 34, who flew back to his native Bristol a fortnight ago after charges against him were dropped, was beaten into second place by paralympian Oscar Pistorius, who was found guilty of culpable homicide after firing at his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.

The Heroes category featured the 9-year-old 'Save the Rhino' campaigner Afeefah Patel who shot to fame two years ago after President Jacob Zuma responded to a letter she wrote to him requesting his assistance in saving the endangered rhino from rampant poaching.
