Unlike any other Sunday: J-K records 49% voter turnout in 4th phase

Jammu and Kashmir recorded a 49% voter turnout in the fourth phase of the assembly polls. Ignoring calls to boycott the polls, thousands lined up outside polling booths to cast their votes in the various constituencies. 

The voter turnout is lower than the previous phases. Jammu and Kashmir recorded 72 per cent voter turnout in the first phase, 70 per cent in the second and 58 per cent in the third phase. 

Meanwhile, in Jharkhand the total voter turn out was 61.65 per cent. Voting took place amid heavy security in the area.
