Anjan Dutta takes over Assam Congress reins

The Congress handed former minister and sitting legislator Anjan Dutta the reins of the faction-ridden Assam Congress to lead the party in the crucial 2016 assembly polls. Dutta, who was questioned by the CBI in the Saradha scam probe, will replace Bhubaneswar Kalita, who held the post for a decade. Kalita's tenure would have ended in March next year.
