Release of Rajinikanth-starrer Lingaa in trouble
December 11, 2014  14:59
The release of Rajinikanth starrer Lingaa, which is slated for tomorrow, is in trouble. The Madras high court has asked the producer of the film Rockline Venkatesh to deposit Rs 10 crore by tomorrow. "The film cannot release till the money is deposited."

Trouble began brewing when KV Ravi Rathinam, an aspiring filmmaker from Madurai, lodged a petition against the makers of the film alleging that they had ripped off his work. He said that the story has been plagiarised from his script, based on the life of Colonel John Pennycuick, a British engineer behind the construction of the Mullaperiyar dam, which he had written for a movie titled 'Mullai 999'.

Sonakshi Sinha and Anushka Shetty have played the lead roles opposite Rajinikanth in this film.
