Assam: Dimapur-Kamahya train derails, 12 hurt

Ten coaches of the 15666 BG Express derailed at Ajuri station near Morigaon in central Assam early today and 12 passengers were injured, Northeast Frontier Railway sources said.

The ten coaches of the Dimapur-Kamahya train jumped the tracks but did not topple down near Jagiroad in Morigaon district at 0205 am, sources said. 

Twelve of the passengers were reported to have received minor injuries and were taken to Morigaon Civil Hospital for first aid, they added. 

Senior railway officials have rushed to the site and rescue operations are on.
