BJP top brass to meet Pranab over UP riots

BJP President Rajnath Singh has claimed that riot-hit Muzaffarnagar in UP is in the throes of an emergency situation and innocent people are being arrested on charges of inciting the riots.

Singh termed the district administration's decision -- to ask him to cancel his planned visit to Muzaffarnagar -- as "unfortunate".

He also stated that the party's top leaders will meet President Pranab Mukherjee on Tuesday, along with all the BJP MLAs in UP, to apprise him of the situation in Muzaffarnagar.
