BJP MLA who shared hate video surrenders

Sangeet Som, BJP MLA from UP, who is facing charges of instigating communal riots in Muzaffarnagar, has surrendered.

He was taken into custody by the state police.

Earlier, an arrest warrant was served on Som. He had been accused of circulating a hate video a few days before the riots broke out.

Som has claimed that all he did was share the video, which was not a crime.

He also claimed that the state government was responsible for inciting the riots.
