External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid on Tuesday said New Delhi would keep a close watch on the developing crisis in Syria, as there was a possibility of a potential U.S. military strike.

"The situation in Syria is very critical. We are keeping a close watch. We are in touch with our mission there. We have lines of credit and various investments that obviously will come under question if there is a war-like situation in Syria.

"But all we can do today is to keep a watch. There isn't much we can do directly, but we are keeping a watch, keeping ourselves informed and at least life will not be danger if anything was to happen," he said.
