The BJP on Monday defended the Shivraj Singh Chouhan-led Madhya Pradesh Government's handling of the situation post the Ratangarh Temple tragedy, and charged the Congress Party of playing politics over dead bodies.

BJP spokesperson Prakash Javadekar said the need of the hour is that the Central Government takes initiatives, takes all states into confidence and prepares national disaster plan how to averse such disasters and come out with a plan and help the states to walk on the path.

"But instead of doing this, every Congress leader right from Kamal Nath to Jyotiraditya Scindia to Ajay Maken and Satyavrat Chaturvedi and everybody Digvijay Singh, they are doing politics on the eve of election.

"They are doing politics over dead bodies. So, this attitude of the Congress is destructive attitude. We condemn such attitude. One should really discuss the tragedy and ensure that how such tragedies do not happen again,' said Javadekar.
