Live! Modi to US: Democracy is the best form of governance

Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi is addressing the global emerging markets forum of USA through video conferencing from Ahmedabad. The speech is being relayed to Washington D.C. to the Emerging Markets Forum.

This is what he says. "I have seen authoritarian systems and democracies but people's own government in a democracy is the best possible system.
Democracy may have its limitations, but nothing is greater than that," he says.

He also said that there was no alternative to good governance, touting the Gujarat model of development.
