Police team leaves for Jodhpur to bring Asaram

A police team from Ahmedabad has left for Jodhpur in Rajasthan to take the custody of self-styled godman Asaram, who is lodged in a jail there in connection with a sexual assault case, officials said today.

"The police team from Ahmedabad left for Jodhpur last night. They will reach today and depending on the court proceedings in Jodhpur, they will bring and produce Asaram in a judicial magistrate's court in Gandhinagar," said Deputy Commissioner of Police, Zone-II, M L Ninama.
