FINALLY: Alice Munro wins Nobel Prize for Literature

Candian author Alice Munro has won the 2013 Nobel Prize for Literature.

Munro, the world's most famous short story writer, has been a contender for the top prize for years.

The Nobel Committee stated, "Munro is acclaimed for her finely tuned storytelling, which is characterised by clarity and psychological realism".

Munro, 82, is the 13th woman to receive the Literature Nobel and the 110th Nobel Laureate.
