Canada PM to boycott Commonwealth summit in Lanka

Canada's Prime Minister Stephen Harper has decided to boycott the forthcoming Commonwealth summit in Colombo to protest the "lack of accountability" of the Sri Lankan government over its dodgy rights record.

Harper's decision comes in the wake of speculations that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh may also skip the summit due to pressure from Tamil parties like the DMK and the AIADMK.
