UP: Encephalitis claims 13 more lives; toll 343

With 13 more deaths reported due to encephalitis in the past 48 hours, the toll from the disease in eastern Uttar Pradesh has reached 343, health officials said today.

Of this, eight deaths occurred at the BRD Medical College Hospital. These include three children from Kushinagar, two each from Gorakhpur and Deoria and one from Siddharthanagar.
