The Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh, on Friday said a Cabinet expansion of the Congress led UPA-II Government is under consideration.

"There are some vacancies in the Cabinet. The issue of filling them up is being considered," Dr. Singh said on board his special aircraft Air India One while returning home after his successful two-nation visit to Japan and Thailand.

To a poser on whether the ruling Congress Party will reach out to the Left and Mamata Banerjee for UPA-III, Dr Singh said there are no permanent allies and no permanent enemies in politics.

"These possibilities, some people coming in, some people going out, I think they have to be accepted as they are," he added.
