When Khurshid ditched Delhi's women's press corps
March 22, 2013  18:04

Minister of External Affairs Salman Khurshid, flush with the success of solving the row over the Italian marines, arrived Friday afternoon to address the women press corps in New Delhi.

As he prepared to address the nearly 70 assembled journalists, he was handed a chit by an aide, apparently from the prime minister. Seems that it contained summons from the PM.

Khurshid, who was about to begin the conference, that was also being telecast live by some channels, apologised to the waiting audience and  excused himself.   He said that he had been called to a 'core group' meeting and left saying he would be back soon.   Last heard, the women journalists were twiddling their thumbs waiting for the minister.
