Rescue teams worked frantically Wednesday to try to extract two people trapped beneath "tons of rubble" after the collapse of a four-story building under demolition in central Philadelphia, according to rescue officials.

"We have located people inside," said Fire Commissioner Lloyd Ayers. "We are going to continue until we get them out and get them to the hospital."

Emergency teams, initially using buckets and their bare hands to move bricks and rubble, pulled out 12 people who were hospitalized with injuries ranging from minor to stable.
