HP govt takes possession of Ramdev's trust land

Possession of land given to Ramdev's trust Patanjali Yogpeeth by the previous BJP regime was today taken over by the Himachal authorities in a "swift but peaceful action", three days after the state government decided to cancel its lease.

A team of Soland district officials led by Additional District Magistrate (ADM), Solan, C P Verma, SDM, Kandaghat, L R Verma and SP, R C Chhasta reached Sadhupul, and informed the functionaries of the trust that the lease of the 28 acres of land, given to the yogpeeth in 2010, has been cancelled. The officials took over the possession of the land and the structures on it and made inventory of all the articles and also sealed the premises, government sources said.
