Vicky Nanjappa reports: Even as the police hunt for clues into the serial blasts that rocked Hyderabad, sources say that it was a local module which could have orchestrated the attack with the help of external sources.

The Intelligence Bureau had warned of such attacks in the country after the Afzal Guru hanging and had specifically put Hyderabad on the radar. The IB had said that the terror threat at Hyderabad following the Afzal hanging was put at high. There has been a lot of disgruntlement following the hanging of Afzal and certain groups have been threatening to hit back.

These local groups have been in touch with certain elements from other parts of the country and there has been movement since a long time. In fact there was movement following the Kasab hanging, but it appears that the blasts were carried out to time it with the Afzal hanging. The terrorists have chosen the bus stand area knowing fully well that the security is low due to the huge crowds.
