Karunanidhi wants death penalty abolished

Just in: DMK chief M Karunanidhi has said that the death penalty should be abolished. This comes in the wake of this: Three people given the death penalty for the assassination of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, have asked the Supreme Court to commute their sentence to life in prison because it took 11 years for their mercy petition to be rejected.
