Five militants and a security personnel were killed in an exchange of gunfire in Pakistan's restive Balochistan province today.

A spokesman for the Frontier Corps told reporters that six people, including five militants and a security personnel, were killed when gunmen attacked a construction site in Turbat area of the province.

"The labourers were engaged in their work at the construction site when militants attacked them but the FC personnel retaliated as a result of which the attack was repulsed," Khan Wasey, spokesman for the Frontier Corps, said. "The FC quickly hit back and ensured security of the construction company's labourers," he said.
