Finally, some good news for the Congress!

The Congress may finally have something to cheer about.

The party has won 8 out of the 12 assembly seats in worst Naxal-affected Bastar region of Chhattisgarh.

Slain Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee chief Nand Kumar Patel's son Umesh has won from the Kharsia constituency, defeating BJP's Jawaharlal Naik by a margin of 38,888 votes.   

Meanwhile, Congress leader Ajit Jogi's wife Renu has won Chhattisgarh's Kota seat, defeating BJP's Kashiram Sahu.
