36 Mumbai cops suspended for taking bribe

The Maharashtra Government has suspended 36 policemen for allegedly accepting bribes from a person, which was caught on camera.
The suspended policemen were attached to Nehru Nagar Police Station in Kurla, central Mumbai.
"We have zero tolerance towards corruption. We want to send out a strong message," said Mumbai Police Commissioner Satyapal Singh.
"We wanted to show that we will not accept such acts. I think this sort of an incident took place for the first time," he added. According to television reports, the victim, Mohammed Khan, said he was carrying out building works at a friend's home in Nehru Nagar area when he was visited by policemen asking for bribes.
