Samantha Geimer, the former teen with whom Roman Polanski was convicted of having sex in 1977, is writing a memoir to tell her side of the story in the infamous Hollywood scandal.

Geimer, now 47, has bagged a deal by Atria Books to write 'The Girl: Emerging from the Shadow of Roman Polanski'. The book will deal with incident that forced Polanski to flee the country in 1978 after being sentenced for unlawful sexual intercourse with a 13-year-old, the Vanity Fair magazine reported.

"I am more than 'Sex Victim Girl,'' a tag the media pinned on me... My friends in junior high, scolded by their parents to stay away from that girl, also labeled me. I offer my story now without rage, but with purpose'"to share a tale that in its detail will reclaim my identity.
