PC: No specific charge, CANNOT probe Vadra

Union Finance minister P Chidambaram said today, while addressing the Economic Editors Conference in the capital that unless there was a specific charge against Robert Vadra on the allegation of quid pro quo, the government can't probe private deals.

Chidambaram was reacting to Arvind Kejriwal and Prashant Bhushan's allegations against Robert Vadra on Friday that realty major DLF had favoured Vadra in property deals in return for a quid pro quo.

Chidambaram on Saturday that he was not aware of the rightness or wrongness of the allegations. Transactions between two private individuals cannot be questioned on the basis of certain imputed or implied act of corruption."
