It's official: Yeddy faxes resignation to Gadkari

Vicky Nanjappa reports from Freedom Park, Bangalore: BS Yeddyurappa has reached Freedom Park. Standing on top of his vehicle, he flashed his trademark victory sign at the crowd... and smiled. That's worth a mention, because the former chief minister spent much of the morning weeping before the cameras as he recalled with bitterness how the BJP treated him. Yeddyurappa is seated next to former MP Dhananjaya Kumar.

We've just been told that Yeddyurappa has faxed his resignation to party president Nitin Gadkari -- Yeddyurappa is now officially out of the BJP and no longer a primary member of the party. He faxed his resignation just before leaving for Freedom Park.
