November 23, 2012  15:35
Our sources in Delhi tell us that the Opposition is all set to dig up controversies (read dirt) on the new CBI director Ranjit Sinha. The Ranchi high court had passed strictures against Sinha over the investigation of the Lalu Prasad Yadav fodder scam. The Opposition say that though the government was aware of this, it chose to ignore the court order while appointing him as the CBI chief.
Sinha,
an IPS officer of the 1974 batch (Bihar cadre), has handled sensitive cases like the fodder scam.

BJP leaders of Opposition Sushma Swaraj and Arun Jaitley write tthe PM over the CBI chief's appointment. Earlier today, Delhi Police Commissioner Neeraj Kumar withdrew his petition in the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) challenging the appointment of  Ranjit Sinha as the new CBI chief. Kumar was third in the list.
