Up ahead in the day, Gujarat CM Narendra Modi and BJP senior leader Sushma Swaraj will be at Balasaheb Thackeray's funeral. Swaraj told TV channels this morning that one of her biggest regrets has been that she did not meet the ailing Sena Supremo before he passed away. "I was to meet Balasaheb ji today at 12 pm. The irony of the turn of events is shocking," said said.

Immediately after his death, Swaraj had tweeted: Saheb was as tall and as firm as the Himalayas. I am terribly pained to hear that the Lion is dead.
