Will Maya face trial in Taj corridor case?
November 05, 2012  08:40
The Allahabad high court today will deliver its judgement on a Public Interest Litigation that has challenged the refusal of the Uttar Pradesh governor to prosecute Mayawati and her close aide Naseemuddin Siddiqu in the Taj corridor case.

With that decision by the UP governor, the Central Bureau of Investigation's  investigation in the Rs. 17 crore scam came to a halt in June 2007.

The lawyers fighting this case have argued that several Supreme Court judgments in the past clearly state that the CBI does not need a sanction from a competent authority to prosecute any public servant.
