Microsoft's Bill Gates meets Jairam Ramesh in Delhi

Microsoft founder Bill Gates, who is on a brief visit to India, met Rural Development Minister Jairam Ramesh here. Ramesh has invited Gates to launch partnerships for developing inexpensive sanitation solutions in the country.

 

Reportedly, Ramesh also asked for support in creating behavioural change and communication pilot models like the pulse polio campaign for toilet use in India. Earlier, Gates met Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and discussed the state of healthcare programmes in the state, which his charitable foundation intends to sponsor.

 

Gates met Yadav at his official residence in Lucknow along with members of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, a charitable organisation that he runs along with his wife.
