Blind Chinese dissident leaves US embassy 'of his own volition'

In other news, prominent Chinese dissident Chen Guangcheng has left the US embassy in Beijing, where he had sought shelter. Xinhua news agency said that he left "of his own volition". A US official said the had been taken to a medical facility in Beijing. The blind dissident escaped from hour arrest six days ago. Neither side had confirmed he was at the US embassy.
