Ajit Singh makes Dharmadhikari report public

Five years after the merger of two state-run airlines, a report on integration of about 29,000 employees of unified Air India, including pilots, cabin crew and engineers, was submitted to the Civil Aviation Ministry in January. Today, Civil Aviation Minister Ajit Singh made the report public.  

Briefly, here's what Ajit Singh said at the press conference a while ago.

1. The Air India pilots' strike is illegal, there will be no talks without pilots joining work.

 

2. The Dharmadhikari Report is to be implemented with effect from April 1, 2007.


3. There will be a uniform policy for IA and AI staff on working hours.

4. A process of promotion will be initiated after 45 days.

 

5. There will be uniform pay scale for erstwhile Air India and Indian Airlines staff.

 

6. The minister announced a four-member panel to examine the Dharmadhikari report.
