DM Satara says Dalit woman was beaten, not stripped

Update on the Dalit woman allegedly beaten, stripped and paraded naked in Satara, Maharashtra. The District Magistrate, Satara, says reports indicate that the woman was beaten but not stripped.
The victim has been admitted to a hospital in Karad.
Reports indicate that her son had eloped with a woman of an upper caste, whose family beat her while she was filling water. No arrests have been made in the case.
