BJP senior minister and former union minister for environment, Maneka Gandhi, added to the chorus of partymen upset over the inducted of tainted BSP minister Babu Ram Kushwaha. She said that the entire BJP unit was upset at the decision to induct Kushwaha and the party took a wrong decision by accepting a minister expelled by the BSP. She said the party leadership may not have been consulted before taking the decision.

The BJP leadership has been upset over the Kushwaha induction as it also gave the Congress, browbeaten over the Lokpal fiasco, to get back at the party.

The Congress lashed out at the BJP on Wednesday after Kushwaha was raided by the CBI. nduction of Kushwaha into the BJP gave Congress an opportunity to attack the BJP leadership, particularly L K Advani and party president Nitin Gadkari, who had been very vocal in lending support to Anna Hazare's Jan Lokpal Bill.
