Indian Navy cancels official New Year programmes

Across the nation, official events are being cancelled as a mark of respect for and to mourn the 23-year-old Delhi girl who was brutalised in a bus on the night of December 16.

The latest to cancel the official new year programme is the Indian Navy. Journalist and rediff.com contributor Nitin Gokhale tweets that the Navy has sent an official communication to this effect.
