Declare 2013 as 'year of women's safety': CPI(M) MP to PM
December 31, 2012  13:04
The CPI(M) like every other party has demanded an agenda for change. The party's senior leader and Rajya Sabha member T N Seema today urged the Union government to declare 2013 as "Year of Women's Safety" as a homage to the Delhi gangrape victim, who braved the brutal assault and fought for life till her last breath.

In a statement here, Seema urged every citizen of the country, especially women, to skip New Year celebrations to express solidarity with the family of the victim and to support the cause of the innumerable rape victims in the country.

Be that as it may, there were other concrete suggestions from her including changing existing laws for rape and molestation and making punitive action stringent.
