December 26, 2012  17:03
The police have maintained that constable Tomar was severely injured in the anti gang-rape protests in Delhi. Protestors allege that this accusation has been used to combat charges of the lack of restraint shown by the cops while they used batons, tear-gas and water cannons to dispel the protests. Eight people including some from the Aam Admi Party have been charged with inciting violence and riots during the weekend's protests.

KC Dwivedi, additional commisioner of the Police, Delhi issuing a statement on the post-mortem report. "Constable Tomar was grievously injured on his head, neck, chest, feet and he suffered a cardiac arrest as a result of these injuries," he says.
