Former IMF chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn has asked a New York court to dismiss a civil lawsuit filed by the hotel maid, who accused him of sexual assault, claiming he has diplomatic immunity.
Strauss-Kahn's lawyers said that he kept his right to immunity as an international official between his May resignation and his return to France, the BBC reports.
The 62-year-old Strauss-Kahn was initially charged with attempted rape and held under house arrest after the maid, Nafissatou Diallo, said he attacked her in his hotel suite on May 14, 2011.
