Former Taliban envoy to Pakistan Mullah Abdul Salaam Zaeef is in the custody of US special forces in Afghanistan, after being deported by Pakistan, CNN reported on Saturday night.
The report said that 'top ranking' US military officials refused to reveal the location of the envoy.
Mullah Abdul Salam Zaeef, 34, was detained on Thursday by Pakistani intelligence officials.
Meanwhile, an agency report said that Pentagon spokeswoman Tori Clarke refused to either confirm or deny the CNN report.
"We're not confirming names or titles of most of the senior people that come under US control," Clarke reportedly said.
