Pakistan-based groups condemn US-led attacks

Pakistan-based terrorist groups on Sunday criticised the US-led attacks against the Taleban in Afghanistan.

Harakat-ul-Mujahideen spokesman Amar Mehdi said the strikes were a "brutal attack on innocent people".

Instead of targeting the training camps, about which they were making a hue and cry, the Americans had used their might to kill innocent people in Afghanistan, Mehdi said.

Markazi Jamiat Ahl-e-Hadith Pakistan, a fundamentalist group, said the Americans now face a "highly critical situation" in the Muslim world.

"We appeal to all Muslims to extend full support to their Afghan brothers in this critical time," Sazid Mir, the organisation's president, a news agency quoted him as saying.

"We have no idea to what extent they have caused damage in Afghanistan," Mir said. "But we are shocked and worried."
