Three-nation one-day tourney to begin on April 1

The three-nation one-day international cricket contest to be held next summer will begin with a match between host India and Australia at Cochin on April 1. Zimbabwe is the third team.

The Australians, who reach India on February 21, will play a three-day fixture against Ranji champions Bombay at the Cricket Club of India from February 24. They are also scheduled to play two more first class matches at Vishakhapatnam (February 28 to March 2) and against the Cricket Board President's eleven at Jamshedpur (March 19 to 21) against India 'A' team.

The Australians will also play three Test matches -March 5-9 at Madras, March 12-16 at Cuttack and March 24-28 at Bangalore.

Following are the fixtures of the tri-nation tourney:
April 1: India vs Australia (Cochin)
April 3: Australia vs Zimbabwe (Ahmedabad)
April 5: India vs Zimbabwe (Baroda)
April 7: India vs Australia (Kanpur)
April 9: India vs Zimbabwe (Calcutta)
April 11: Zimbabwe vs Australia (Faridabad)
April 14 The final (New Delhi)
