In the women's event, Sania Mirza and Chinese Taipei's Chia-Jung Chuang earned a hard-fought 6-4, 7-5 win over the Czech combination of Iveta Benesova and Barbora Strycova Zahlavova to advance to the pre-quarter-finals.

Paes-Dlouhy converted four break-points and saved three on their own serve to run away with the first set.

The second set too belonged to the winners as they converted both the break-points that came their way to seal the issue.

Sania and Chuang converted two break-points in the first set and saved two.

In the second set, seven breaks were traded with the Indo-Taipei pair getting four en route to victory.
