Iraqi first division player Ahmed Naser lost one of his legs during a suicide bomb attack in Baghdad on Monday, the Asian Football Confederation reported on its web site on Wednesday.

Naser, who plays for first division side Al Sena, was shopping with team mate Ihab Kareem when the bomb exploded in the Al Shourja commercial area of the Iraqi capital, killing over 80 people.

"Al Sena player Ahmed Naser, who is the brother of Al Zawra player Muhamad Naser, lost one of his legs following a suicide bombing," Tareq Ahmed of the Iraqi Football Association was quoted as saying on the site (www.the-afc.com)

Kareem was reported to have suffered a serious leg injury in the blast.
