The Indian challenge in the 29th King's Cup Boxing Championships in Bangkok ended with a tally of three silver and one bronze medal.

In the finals, the Indian pugilists could not maintain the fine showing they put up right through the tournament and had to settle for second place in their respective bouts.

Hosts Thailand retained the team championship while Uzbekistan were runners-up.

Somjit Jongjor of Thailand, who defeated Jitender Kumar of India in the 51 kg bout on points in the final, was declared 'Best Boxer'.

Narjit Singh lost by an RSC (OS) verdict to Abutalipov Kanat of Kazakhstan in the 54 kg final.

In the 75 kg final, Vijender lost on points to Asian Games gold medalist Rasulov Elshod of Uzbekistan.

Jitender, Narjit and Vijender were awarded silver medals while Dinesh Kumar received a bronze, having earlier lost in the semi-finals to Abdurrahmanov Sherzod of Uzbekistan, the eventual gold medalist.
